description
Located amidst beautiful landscape, this historical mill has been completely renovated and restructured into 6 spacious apartments (please see V161-163 and V212 and V213). Already settled during the Roman era, the mill began producing flour in the 18th century and also played an important role during the Spanish Civil War. The mill was in active use until 1974, and the new owners spent much of the past few years renovating and rebuilding the property.
This apartment is located on the ground floor, and the living room leads directly out onto a terrace behind the building, which has a wonderful view onto a large pond and the lush foliage. The terrace is set up with garden furniture, making it a perfect spot for enjoying breakfast outdoors. The living and dining room with an open-plan kitchen is furnished with a sofa, satellite TV and a dining room table. Cooking in the fully equipped kitchen is easy and enjoyable since it has a bar with stools so that others can keep the cook company (it also has a coffeemaker, a toaster, an electric kettle and a microwave). The two bedrooms each have twin beds that can also be made up as a double bed, providing groups with lots of flexibility. The bathroom has a shower and there is a separate toilet.
The house is surrounded by a garden that stretches out as far as the eye can see, crisscrossed by paths that are perfect for pleasant walks. The many shade-giving trees are an irresistible invitation for reading and relaxing. There is a large fishpond directly in front of the terrace, and the lovely swimming pool (12 x 3.5m) is just 100m further away and nestled into an idyllic setting: next to the large expansive lawn with deck chairs stands an enormous, almost cave-like rock that provides plenty of shade on hot days. This area also has a charming pavilion and a pretty BBQ-grill spot along with plenty of garden furniture to accommodate all guests.
Unfortunately, the fishpond is not fenced in at the moment, which means that we CANNOT recommend this property for children under 8 years of age - if you need further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
It is an ideal spot for all sorts of nature activities, sports or to simply enjoy the wonderfully pleasant Spanish climate. Culturally speaking, the area also has lots to offer, please see our list of tips below. Furthermore, the owners of the Riudabella castle (please see Ref. V55), located just 3km from here, are more than happy to provide guests with a private tour through the glorious castle halls.
This villa has a swimming pool.
location: Vimbodí
The mill is located 4 km from the Monastery of Poblet, 1 km from Vimbodi where you can find a simple restaurant and a small shop and and 7 km from Espluges de Francolí with a bigger variety of shops and restaurants. A private visit to the Riudabella Castle, the route of the Cisterian Monasteries and the medieval village Montblanc is worth a visit. Wine Lovers will enjoy tasting the wine in the local wine cellars, and the Costa Dorada with its lovely golden beaches is within an hours drive away (50 km).
